X-IM Help Key-Pair Security Information Two pairs of security keys are generated. One pair lets you decrypt your messages, and the other pair lets you apply your digital signature to messages. Each pair has a public and a private part. The private parts are encrypted on your computer, and the public parts are transmitted to anyone who wants to securely communicate with you. Your private keys are encrypted with your passphrase to protect their security. Your public keys are verified and signed by the X-IM server to ensure their validity to those who wish to securely communicate with you.
