X-IM Help Creating Memos A memo contains an unlimited amount of text and/or file attachments securely encrypted and signed for specified recipient(s). This is ideal for any secure information that might need to be retained, either in the long or short term, such as schedules, passwords, logins, credit card numbers, account numbers, contact information, etc. You must supply each memo with a subject line (next to the RE:). To add file attachments, you can either drag files from your Windows Explorer or desktop onto the memo window, or you can click the "Secure Attachments" button, and select the file(s) from there. To add text, just type or paste it in the "Secure Text" box. After you input the text, you can select a portion of it and click the "B" button (or press Ctrl-B on the keyboard) to make the selection bold, or click the "I" button (or press Ctrl-I) to italicize it, or click the "U" button (or press Ctrl-U) to underline it. Once you supply a subject line and text and/or file(s), you can either click the "Send" or "Save Locally" buttons. If you are not connected to the Internet, then only the "Save Locally" button will be enabled. In both cases all the components of the memo will be encrypted, signed, hashed and stored in a secure file on your computer. If you click "Send" it will also be sent to the X-IM Server, which will send it to each of your recipients. For more information, see both the "Security Info" for this screen and the section on the Memo Inbox/Outbox. |
