Contacts

The Contacts window is where you can enter all your contacts and initiate any communication with them. To send an IM or other type of message, first select the contact you want to send to by clicking that contact. If no contact is selected the Send buttons remain disabled. The Chat function and the Memo function allow you to select multiple contacts. To select multiple contacts, hold down the Ctrl key and click on each contact you want to include. If multiple contacts are selected, the "IM" and "R U There?" buttons will be disabled since these options only apply to single contacts.

To add new contacts, click the "Add Contact" button. To edit or delete a contact, first select the contact and then click the "Delete Contact" or "Edit Display Name" buttons.

Each contact consists of an email address and "Display Name". The email address is used to uniquely identify the user. The Display Name is used to identify that contact in Chats, IM's, etc.

NOTE: All IM's, Chat messages and other communications used in X-IM are fully encrypted, signed, and protected from alteration. It is not possible to send unencrypted messages with X-IM.
