X-IM Help Multiple Installations of X-IM Multiple accounts on one computer/Domain: When you install X-IM, it becomes available for every users of the computer. Each Windows user is treated as a separate X-IM user with their own unique account, ID, keys and passphrase. When each new Windows user starts X-IM for the first time, he will be taken through the X-IM setup process. In multi-user environments where roaming Windows logins are used, users can access their X-IM account from any computer where X-IM is installed. The uninstall icon will only appear for the user who installed X-IM on the computer. Please note that uninstalling X-IM uninstalls it for that user all users of that computer. One account on multiple computers: You can install the same account on multiple computers, if you want to use it from different locations which are not part of the same domain. When you install the same account in a second location, you will be prompted for the passphrase, rather than being sent another confirmation email. Only one instance of the account can be logged in at a time. When you log in to your X-IM account from a second installation, the first installation will automatically disconnect from the X-IM Server, and display a message to that effect. |
