X-IM Help Viewing Memos A memo contains an unlimited amount of text and/or file attachments securely encrypted and signed for specified recipient(s). This is ideal for any secure information that might need to be retained, either in the long or short term, such as schedules, passwords, logins, credit card numbers, account numbers, contact information, etc. Each memo will display the "From" contact, the "To" contact(s) and the subject line (RE:). Click on the dividing line directly under the subject line to also see the memo's date/time and ID. The date/time is supplied by the sender's computer and is not verified by any third party. The ID matches the file name of the memo file. If you are viewing a "saved" memo, you will see a "Send" button, which you can use to send it to its designated recipient(s). Otherwise, you will only see the "Close" button. To decrypt file attachments, click on the icon for the file, and select "Decrypt and Save File" and select a destination. If there are multiple files, you can also select "Decrypt and Save All Files" and select a directory to save them in. For more information, see both the "Security Info" for this screen and the section on the Memo Inbox/Outbox. |
